Sworn interpreting

Precision and humanity hand in hand

Sworn interpreting

As a sworn interpreter, I regularly work at institutions that require this service. This can be done at the request of the body itself, or at the request of the person who has to appear.
For example, an agency that calls me could be the police or the court where a sworn interpreter is required to convert an interrogation or a hearing with a witness or a suspect from English or Russian into Dutch… and,  of course, vice versa.

In addition, you, as a natural person who can only express yourself in Russian or English, but who has to conduct a conversation or an interview with a Dutch-speaking institution, can also call me. This may be necessary, for example, during a hearing at the family court, during proceedings to recognize a child of two non-Belgian parents at the municipality, or in a marriage where one of the two partners does not speak Dutch.

In order to be able to do this, I took the oath as an interpreter at the court of Brussels and successfully completed an additional compulsory training. As such, I have a unique registration number in the National Register for Translators and Interpreters (the so-called ‘VTI number’) and I do not have to take the oath every time I start an interpreting assignment.

My working method

If you need a sworn interpreter, please let me know

  • in which context you need the specific services of a sworn interpreter, and for which language
  • when and where your interview or discussion is provided, and
  • how much time is provided.

With this information, I can make a price offer for an interpreting assignment.

If I can help you with a translation, I would like to know:

  • the language you need a translation from,
  • if the translation has to be sworn and if yes, in which context
  • the volume (expressed in number of words or, in case of birth certificates etc, pages), and
  • when you need the translation back.

This information will enable me to make an offer for a translation from English or Russian to Dutch and we can discuss the terms of delivery. As soon as we agree, I can start working with your text.

Feel free to contact me for any other question!
