Translation office near Brussels
Translating is a profession on its own. Some say it’s a craft. It requires time, dedication and concentration and it is a good idea to call in someone who enjoyed the right education and who applies herself diligently to his or her task. This should be someone who specialises in understanding what is in the source text and subsequently transfers the message into the target language, which is normally his or her native language. A translator is not only a linguistic professional, but also a person who sticks to an agreement. This person is a specialist, a reliable ally you can count on.
I could be this ally for you. Business and commercial texts, juridical texts or hr-related subjects: these are just a few examples of documents I translate for you from English and Russian into Dutch. You can also count on me for the sworn translation of official documents from English and Russian into Dutch, such as certificates that are used in the context of a marriage, registration in a city or at university.
I work with texts in any standard electronic format. If possible, I use the translation memory SDL Trados. This is not a translation programme that does the job for me; it is an extended database with terminology that allows me to translate sentences and terms in exactly the same way as before… or differently if the context requires another solution. This offers an even more solid quality guarantee.
Because I’m not just passionate about language in general, but about literature as well and because I want to contribute to the diffusion of worldwide literature in the Dutch-speaking regions, I added literary translation to my work field. An additional training in literary translation and a number of workshops have broadened my view significantly. A number of my translations and articles has been published in literary magazines. You will find more details about this in the ‘publications’ and ‘education’ sections.
My translating office is situated in Dilbeek near Brussels, in the heart of Belgium, from where I can offer my services to customers nearby and far away. If you need a translation from or into other languages than those which I master myself, I can help you find someone who can help you through one of the networks I’m part of.
